Organizations, duration and budget
Organizations: Savonia University of Applied Sciences (lead), Agricultural University of Iceland, Teagsac, LULEÅ Tekniska Universitet
Duration: 1.3.2026 – 28.2.2027
Budget: 199 998,11 €. Co-funded by EU Interreg

Objectives
AUTOsense leverages the joint assets of existing NPA and Aurora projects bringing together knowledge and practical experience in autonomous environmental monitoring, precision agriculture, and robotics.
▪ By combining outputs and best practices, AUTOsense facilitates transnational transfer and
scaling of digital solutions, improving data-driven decision-making in agriculture, and
environmental management.
▪ AUTOsense builds on established demonstrations, trial fields, and stakeholder networks,
creating hands-on learning opportunities through workshops and fostering higher
acceptance of innovative technologies among end users such as farmers and public
authorities.
▪ Participating regions share geographic and socio-economic characteristics that hinder
efficient data collection, environmental monitoring, and climate-adaptive planning.
Farmers and local authorities often operate with limited resources, making it difficult to
implement effective macro-regional strategies, cross-sectoral initiatives, and sustainable land
management practices. By targeting both technical solutions and institutional capacity,
AUTOsense ensures information on digital tools to monitor soil, water, and crops are
crosspollinated with projects and shared with wider stakeholders, strengthening local
governance and enabling public authorities to implement territorial strategies.
